Ain't gotta wait no more, no more

There is so much in this life that one has to just WAIT for. Can't MAKE it happen. Can't force it. Can't rush it.....just gotta wait. In line at the store, for that doctor's appointment and then again for the test results, for the weekend, for Christmas, for inspiration, for forgiveness, for the light to turn green, for the dough to rise, for the wound to heal, for that phone call, for the plane to take off, for the sun...or the rain.

And this will always be, for everyone. There will always be the list of things to wait for, the things on the list changes, but there will always be the list.

So, I've been thinking about this a lot lately and what I am discovering is that this is sooooooo not true. Or, rather it is not Necessary. Waiting is totally unnecessary. It's kind of a figment of our imagination actually. Or a way of thinking about our lives that is no more real than we make it. How so? Well, whether you are actively waiting or not, the sun will come out when it comes out. Regardless of your status of waiting for it or forgetting to wait for it, the dough will rise, the light will turn green and the phone call will come when it comes.

How FREEING that is.....And what an invitation. An invitation into the only thing none of us are ever waiting for, which is the present moment. Enter into this moment, again and again, fully present, and Waiting dissolves. Why? Because time, in a sense, dissolves when we are fully present.

And so that is how I plan to proceed with my day, with my LIFE actually....not waiting for a darn thing. Just BEING....completely....and letting that list of things take care of itself.

Amen to that

And I should give credit where credit is due, my inspiration for this revelation comes largely from that book I'm reading, the one from Dad called A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose by Eckhart Tolle (the Power of Now guy).
