Just a quickie to let you know that despite the unfortunate events of the day in Colombo, we are fine and were not near either of the blasts (zoo and railway station). We, if you'd like to know, were in our glory in spa chairs getting our toes painted, chatting about this and that. It is tragic, the state of things. We feel it, a little fearful, mindful of the suffering, angry that politics affects the innocent again and again, and while being mindful of all of that, we also remain present to each other and the precious gift of that. We had a great lunch and spent more time chatting on the porch, watching the Lankan world go by. We had a great day but it's also a sad day. It's important to be present to all of it. Peace prayers and prayers of thankfulness.

Tomorrow is Independence Day for Sri Lanka. We will celebrate by having lunch at Lynn's. Patric and family are going to be there. We'll leave the parades and public gatherings alone this time around. May it be a peaceful day~

Love you all,
Sara Leo Mom and Tina
