up in yonder hills

Tomorrow we are driving to a city about 6 hours north of Colombo called Anuradhapura.
We'll arrive in the afternoon and come back to Colombo on Sunday. I'm working most of that time but it's a supposed to be a nice drive and an interesting area so we decided to make a trip out of it. Anuradhapura is an ancient city with ruins and holy places to visit. Nice footage for the next episode of Mountain Wave Productions. A colleague of ours is bumming a ride. She hasn't been there before and she's about to leave Sri Lanka so wanted to see this place before she left. We're looking forward to new sights and smells and sounds.

It's about spitting distance from the beginning of the no-go zone but still "ok". Psalm 121, the travelers psalm comes to my mind. The last part of it says, "...the lord shall preserve you from all evil; it is he who shall keep you safe. the lord shall watch over your going out and your coming in from this time forth, now and forevermore."
If I were to write the same psalm today i might word it more like, "...God's light shines through you and out to everyone and everything around you, keeping you safe and transforming any negativity around you into goodness. God is in you and around you and will be with you in your going out and your coming in from this time forth, now and forevermore." But the old words hold the voice of my Gramps standing in a circle of my loved ones speaking blessings before the journeying began.

Many of you are on the road or in the air this weekend too. Have a wonderful time.

Blessings and Peace ~ MtnWve
