god of dirt

Yesterday evening, Leo came outside with a BIG smile on his face pointing in pantomime at the phone in his hand. It was "the job" calling to set up an interview. Next Tuesday at 2:30pm. It's down to me and a few others. Blessings to this process. For all of us involved, and for the perfect unfolding. I will shine my light on Tuesday and see what happens.

As I was digging in the dirt yesterday Shadow was so tangible to me. Still is. So tangible that I can....
hear him
touch and feel him
smell his smell...like bread, like home
I take it as a gift. He is close. Reminiscing with my senses aligned and attuned. Thankful.

It is a beautiful silent morning. Trees dancing in the early light, it's windy. I'll be out there soon. There is a great big pile of mulch to be spread. Tomorrow I'll be doing census work again so I am going to enjoy this day, this day full of dirt and wind and birds and time to think and remember and Be.

from Mary Oliver's poem One or Two Things:

3
The god of dirt
came up to me many times and said
so many wise and delectable things, I lay
on the grass listening
to his dog voice,
crow voice,
frog voice; now,
he said, and now,
and never once mentioned forever,...

Love starting my day at work reading this "THE job" update!, Mary Oliver poem, and Shadow and dirt.

Enjoy your time with the mulch and the wind.

I'm setting my church bells for Tuesday at 11:30 my time.
