Back on the road yesterday. Popoyo to San Juan del Sur. Technically, it is about a 2.5 hour drive but our vehicle became technically challenged so we did not make the 2.5 hour mark. Putt, putt, putt, our truck coasted into the driveway of a mechanic. After an hour of taking things apart, we transferred our boards and bags to a Toyota Land Cruiser skeleton with no lights, broken everything including seats, and high tailed it to San Juan del Sur, racing with the sun which was fast setting. We made it, safe and sound. I mumbled the Travelers Psalm somewhere along the way and then relaxed into the changing canvas of clouds and sunset stretching across the sky, the Volcanoes of Ometepe stained pink and topped with a swirl of white cloud. Nicaragua is beautiful. Truly beautiful...
