Leo has been recovering from an infection under his arm so we were in Colombo this weekend. Got a little work done, sorted "stuff" to leave and stuff to ship home, we watched some good movies and enjoyed being home together with no schedule. Today I went to Kelly and Jason's for a little while. It was nice to see baby Naia in real life. Even though we live in the same city, I keep up with them mostly through their blog.

This coming weekend is the Sinhala and Tamil New Year so the next two weeks is the most festive time of the year for Sri Lankans. It didn't start out too peaceful. This morning, one of the ministers of parliament was killed in an explosion at a new years festival north of Colombo in a town called Gampaha. Prayers for safety and peaceful celebrations over the next few weeks.

Tonight we are getting an awesome thunderstorm. Lots of lightning, thunder, and heavy rain. We turned everything off, unplugged things for awhile when the lightning and thunder seemed to be right above our building. Electricity surging in weird ways. I thought of Maria in DC who told me that whenever there's a thunderstorm, her mother orders everything to be turned off and unplugged and for everybody to just sit quiet, it's God's Time. M-m-m, love that. So, Mama McNeill would have been proud because that's what we did.

That's it from the Dawgs tonight.

Peace~ Sweet dreams
