Friday night we went to our first opera. The Pearl Fishers, written by George Bizet in 1863 (same guy who wrote Carmen). The story is set in Sri Lanka but this was the first time it's ever been performed here. We were invited by Patrick and family. A generous and wonderful gift. We had a great time. The music was great, the singing was great, we were all caught up in the flow of it all. Thank you Patrick!! We will never forget our first opera.

The rest of the weekend we were like hermits in our little abode and I needed it. Saturday we stayed in the WHOLE DAY. Slept, read, watched TV, made yummy food starting with PANCAKES for breakfast using our Christmas bisquick from USA :)

Sunday, today, we stayed in most of the day too. It has been a cozy lazy rainy day. We ventured out to get groceries, made a taco-feast for dinner, and now we've cleaned up the kitchen and we're kickin' back to watch some Sopranos.

We filled out our absentee ballots for Walton County Florida over the weekend and will return them in time to be counted for the Presidential Preference election for Florida January 29th. Despite the moronic media focusing on the size of Obama's ears, whether or not Hillary's moment of emotion was real, and which musicians support Ron Paul without ever covering what Ron Paul STANDS FOR, we do our best to keep up with what's going on with the campaign. Sometimes CNN looks less like a news channel and more like Nickelodeon.

Hoping for a more peaceful week in Lankaland and in other parts of the world on this Sunday evening.

Keep warm or stay cool, as your case may be.
We love you,
S&L

Dude, not Nickelodeon...the E! network. We have been following the primaries closely and have been disgusted by the t.v. coverage. They will break into a broadcast with an update on Britney Spears' latest antics. Ewwww. We miss you guys and are wishing you a "warm and cozy week" as your nephew would say.
