Saman Villa

Last weekend was wonderful. We had perfect weather, it was uncrowded, ate great food, and enjoyed spectacular views. Not sure if we will have many more anniversaries like this one. Of course all our anniversaries will be special but I'm not sure that we will have many opportunities to splurge like we did, and we enjoyed every minute of it.

The drive is probably only 30 miles, but it takes at least two hours to weave through the cars, tuk-tuks, cows, lorries, motorcycles, pedestrians and the countless other modes of transport on the only road that leads south. We arrived just in time for a magnificent sun-downer.

We enjoyed the sunset so much that it led into the night. When we returned to our room and had a fruit basket and wine waiting for us.

The next morning we awoke to coffee with a view.

And spent the day reading..

soaking in the pool and sun...

and daydreaming.

That evening we had another blissful sunset and watched some beach cricket,

gazed at the Indian Ocean,

walked on water,

and had dinner with a flute serenade. Sara was in heaven, we both were.

A very special anniversary weekend. One to remember for many years to come.

Awesome blog -- Beautiful pictures. The universe provides what we need in such an extreme way sometimes, yes?
