cable woes

a rainy tuesday evening here in colombo.
just got home from work.
enjoying the coziness of dark cloud blankets, soft swooshing of traffic through water, and whispering rain.
leo's cooking pasta and just handed me a glass of wine. mmmmm. deep breath, big sigh. i LOVE being home.

the tv is not on which normally i would applaud. tonight however, it is unfortunate. you see, leo and i are a bit NUTS about soccer/football/futbol and as this is week 2 of WORLD CUP, we are glued to the tv in the evenings and on into the wee hours of the morning. so why not tonight (or last night, or the night before that)?

our cable company which enjoys the financial support of 20,000 customers is being investigated by the government. rumors abound as to why and what but none of that matters at the moment. the RESULT of this investigation is that the cable service was cut on sunday despite the fact that the company has not been found guilty of anything, been charged with anything.

dude....that would just not FLY back home.

oh the things we take for granted.

and during WORLD CUP no less. frickin' lunatics. my husband is in a fragile highly volatile state of agitation.

but, in the words of Emerson, "Wherever you are, be there." and so we sip our wine, savor a nice meal, and nestle into the rainy quiet night. Leo has the laptop beside him and checks the online minute by minute report on scores, plays, and highlights. I have my feet up, eyes half shut, listening to the rain fall.

peace and love friends.

dawgs out.
