rainy night in colombo

it's raining
it's pouring
leo's flipflops are molding...

i can't really explain to y'all how HOT and HUMID it is here right now.
i'm thankful for a/c which not only cools but lowers the humidity.
after i do my dinner dishes i will seek refuge in the bedroom, the cool haven of normalcy.

last night i slathered myself with no-mo-shroomie spummie which felt a little like a light honey spread. i put on a long sleeved shirt and lay down to let the healin' begin. i can't wait to do it all again this evening.....by the way, since a few of you have asked, it don't itch, don't flake, don't ooze. it's just white spots on my back like i'm loosing my pigment.

early this a.m, leo left on a field visit down south (5 hr drive) with our aussie friend and colleague to check out a relief project. he called tonight and said today was really good. he's learning a lot, he's inspired by what he has seen. the aussie friend is a surfing nut from sydney so of course there were boards involved with getting down there this morning and a quick session after the meetings and before dinner. leo is in his GA-LORY I'm sure :)

my project is picking up speed a bit. i am writing training material and doing some on-the-job training for my counterpart. she's excited to learn and asks tough good questions that make me think so i'm learning right along with her. there are still significant road blocks but i'm coming to accept that as part of the landscape. i take them as they come.

until next time good people.

signing off,
shrummie
