April Blossoms

April is the month with the most names in my birthday calendar. Here’s to all the lovely people celebrating their personal new year in April.

5: Kathleen in DC, running the tracing service with grace, a blessing to many.


15: Uncle Lowell in Yankton South Dakota, a sweet ‘ole pea and brother of my Gram



17: my MOM, a wise, wild and true woman from whom I continue to learn a great many things about life, love and the natural order of big and small and for whom I am thankful beyond words for the example she lives and for her way of loving me.

20: Caliope Campbell, little peanut in TN born of Kyle and Sarah last year. We continue to welcome her precious soul, big blue eyes, and strawberry blond curls into our world.

21: Tina, my mom’s soul mate and partner-in-life and a beautiful firefly who sparkles with life and love and who helps us all hold a vision of our dreams.

26: Alexis in St. Thomas, daughter of Tina and thus my sister, working and loving in the sweet Islands

27: Diana, my sister-in-law, an artist whose medium is living space, a mama-spirit who has embraced several foster children with love this year, a southern belle and scholar.


29: Rohani, (sounds like raw-honey) a Sri Lankan woman who helps us at home during the week. She has a no-nonsense way about her which keeps people out of her way but she hasn’t been able to fool us at all. She is sweet-sweet and when beckoned into smiles and laughter, giggles and bubbles with girl-spirit. Her name suits her well, Raw-Honey. Today is her birthday….we are thankful for you Rohani!!

29: MY GRAM!! The storyteller, the historian, my connection to those who came before. Hungry for knowledge, always learning, always expanding her understanding of the past and present. She’s a little lady standing not quite 5 feet but her intellectual capacity is crazy huge and she is sharp as a tack at 83. Happy birthday Gram!!
