This morning we were still out of cream

Yesterday, I had the unfortunate experience of pouring cream into my fresh steaming cup of coffee and it curdled. Ugh. Bad cream. And somehow through the course of the rest of the day, I thought Leo went to pick some up. He either thought I had or forgot about it altogether until this morning. This morning we were still out of cream.

I got into the car (quite grumpily to be honest), drove down to the General Store and as I passed Blackfish Creek, the Light.......ohhhhhh the Light and I was instantly awake and in awe. I drove up to the General Store and sitting right in front was Kaia, the store mastiff, with her basketball in her mouth. Big dog brought a smile to my lips. I bought my cream and drove to the ocean just beyond and the Sun...ohhhhh the Sun. Rising out of a bank of fog and clouds creating such strange and beautiful moments. One other person was there and he had his tripod and big lens pointed right at the miracles rising. We said nothing to one another but in my mind I loved his being there. Our tools of artistic solidarity. Me with my eyes. Never forget what good tools those are.

And now I'm home, drinking my coffee, having had more blessings before 8am then you'd ever think possible. I pass them on to your morning, your afternoon, your evening. Bless you, bless you, bless you from the morning light and the big dog and the sunrise over the ocean. Bless you.

I love you Sara, and your wonderful observations and that you are always ready to see the glory around us. You have just brought a smile to my face and heart.

Amen. Amen. So good.

Someone put a blanket over my lap today and I imagine that's what this sunrise and the dog and the company felt like to you.

Eva Cassidy is on the radio at the coffee shop.

Love those eyes of yours, of ours.
