hot sandy salty greetings from central america. we are in nicaragua scoping out the scene in san juan del sur, a small fishing village and a pseudo-base camp for gringo(a) surfers. tomorrow we'll try to push off for a beach farther north called Popoyo. today is about hunting for boards, checking rates on buses and water taxis for tomorrow and buying a higher SPF for whitey-elisabeth here....I'm not sure what I was thinking when I bought 30. If it took 60 in Sri Lanka, that's what it'll take here too.

the music just turned from good to bad in this little breakfast nook we've been wi-fi-ing in this morning so, i guess that's our sign to seek out what else the day brings.
