only love can do that

I woke up this morning and came into the living room. The TV was tuned into CNN Headline News. A botox commercial, nutrisystem diet commercial, make 15,000 dollars from the comfort of your own home call now, Saddam Hussein's execution, Gerald Ford's casket LIVE in a California Episcopal sanctuary, and James Brown's casket which is on a "farewell tour". That's quite a bit of news...and quite a line up into the afterlife.

I don't feel happy about Hussein's execution. Not sure what more I have to say about it. Killing for killing just isn't the answer, it doesn't seem right. I opened my email and I had a warning from the American Embassy in Colombo about possible backlashes against American citizens. It is a volatile time in this world. A dangerous time to be American in more and more countries. How do we respond? Fear, worry about the future, freezing up inside with frustration or worse of all, "none of that really affects me"......I don't know about you but that is not my style. I'm not going to close myself up towards the world. In fact, I have a duty NOT TO. I need to share love in as many ways as I can with as many people as I can in my daily life. That's my job....that's my real job. To amp up the love. Toward myself, towards those I know....and those I don't. Love people as I pass them on the street. What is in our hearts shines in our eyes.

"Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars... Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." -Martin Luther King Jr.

Peace...and love, the Dawgs

Dear Sarah and Leo belles
Was so lovely to read your news and know you are happy and peacefully enjoying your time with friends and family. Yes our little Sri lanka is a bit devoid of stars at the moment but hope love can shine through. Wishing you both and all your family a very happy new year. We miss you Love Lynn and Pindi xx
