lost and found

down the rickety sidewalk full of crows eating leftover rice and curry through day old plastic bags, over greyhaired ladies in bright blue silken saris, past the fire department with no hose, around the corner which is round, past the tire shop selling bald tires a schoolboy dropped a silver rupee from his hot hand as an army truck came fast honking. guns poked the sky and the day steamed silent for a moment. the schoolboy stared after the poking guns until the blaring horn of a bus like a circus came blaring. he and a skinny dog scooted aside and a crow passing scooped up the shiny coin.
